The final 10 percent
After the paint is on and cured, finishing is what separates a good job from a stunning one.
Remove dust first
A tack cloth lifts dust between coats and before polishing for a clean surface.
Compound and polish
Work through compounds and polishes to remove fine sanding marks and bring up the gloss.
Finish with microfibre
A quality 350gsm microfibre cloth buffs to a streak-free, mirror shine without marring.
Protect it
Lock in the shine with a marine wax such as Collinite 845.
